JFK Presidential Library and Museum to Reopen on July 4th Weekend
— The Museum will be open on weekends only and admission will be free during the months of July and August —

BOSTON – The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum today announced that it will reopen to the public on weekends with reduced hours beginning Saturday, July 3. In appreciation of the significant sacrifices that were made by everyone over the past year to keep people safe, admission to the Museum will be free in July and August.

The Museum will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2.p.m. Advanced timed ticket reservations will be required, and the last ticket will be available for a 12:45 p.m. entry each day. The Library’s research room will remain closed, but researchers can continue to work with archivists online by emailing kennedy.library@nara.gov

Free tickets will be made available to reserve at the JFK Library’s website beginning on June 27.

“We are so pleased to welcome our visitors back to the Library and Museum,” said JFK Library Director Alan Price. “We know this year has been incredibly hard on individuals and families across our city, state, and country. We hope by making admission free this summer that many can come and find some relief by visiting our Museum on beautiful Columbia Point. We are grateful to all those who helped get us through the pandemic safely.”

There will still be several COVID-19 safety guidelines in place for visitors to the JFK Library. Museum guests will be required to reserve tickets in advance and those tickets will be honored at the time stamped on the ticket. In order to maintain social distancing, the Library will not be able to accept visitors without a ticket stamped for the correct timed entry. The JFK Library will not require masks for fully vaccinated individuals, but will require not-fully vaccinated individuals to wear a mask while in the building. Due to COVID social distancing guidelines, Museum theaters will be closed until further notice. The free UMass shuttle bus service to the Library is suspended for the summer.

The Museum will continue extra cleaning and sanitization of the facility each day. Visitors will also have to provide contact information when they reserve their ticket. The information will be used for contact tracing purposes if an infected person is confirmed to have visited the Library. The JFK Café will remain closed until further notice.

Visitors should check the JFK Library’s health and safety page before visiting to see if any changes have been made to the Museum safety guidelines.

The Museum will also have a limited opening in June for members only. The same health and safety guidelines will apply.

The Library will continue to monitor the coronavirus pandemic through local, state, and federal health departments as it determines when to open to the public full time. Visitors should check the Library’s website - www.jfklibrary.org - for the latest updates about Museum hours and ticket availability.
