Seán Hemingway, Ernest Hemingway’s grandson, honors the winner and finalists for the 2021 PEN/Hemingway Award for Debut Novel at this celebration. The 2020 PEN/Hemingway Award winner and finalists will also be honored. Award-winning filmmakers Ken Burns, Lynn Novick, and Sarah Botstein, creators of the forthcoming documentary series Hemingway, will discuss the cultural importance of authors and stories in a keynote conversation. The Kennedy Library is the major repository of Ernest Hemingway’s personal papers.

Registration guarantees a seat in the building, but not in the main hall. Doors to the main hall open approximately one hour before the start of each program.
