Summertime Sailing

About the Puzzle

“From my first race on Nantucket Sound many years ago to my most recent outing as a weekend sailor, sailing has given me some of the most pleasant and exciting moments of my life.” – John F. Kennedy, April 3, 1963

Growing up spending summers on Cape Cod, JFK and his siblings developed a lifelong passion for sailing. Of the many boats he sailed, his favorite was Victura, purchased by the Kennedy family when he was 15. He named the boat Victura which means “she who is about to conquer” in Latin- a subject he had struggled with in school. He sailed Victura for three decades, spending time on the boat with Mrs. Kennedy, family, and friends.
