June 27, 2019

About This Episode

Each year, the JFK Library Foundation recognizes and celebrates the quality President Kennedy admired most - political courage. The award recognizes a public official at the federal, state or local level whose actions demonstrate the qualities of politically courageous leadership outlined in Profiles in Courage, President Kennedy’s 1957 Pulitzer Prize-winning book. This year, United State Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi accepted the award in a ceremony at the JFK Library. In this episode of JFK35, Senator Chris Dodd explains why she received the 2019 JFK Profile in Courage Award, including her work passing healthcare reform and expanding access to healthcare for all Americans.
