Who is eligible for this award?

Award recipients must demonstrate bold vision and innovation in seeking to address a climate or conservation challenge along one of the five pillars of the Earthshot Prize: Protect and Restore Nature; Clean Our Air; Revive Our Oceans; Build a Waste-free World; and/or Fix Our Climate.

Award recipients must be based in the Northeast Region of the United States, but the impact of the solution can affect or extend to any location.

Award recipients’ solutions can be in any stage of development from conception through maturity, and can come from any organizational model.

How do I apply for this award?

To apply for this award fill out the application and submit it by May 31, 2024 at 8:00PM ET. To learn more about the eligibility, criteria, and award application visit the award information page.

Do I need to create a login to apply for the award?

What are the “Earthshots”?

The Earthshot Prize and the Earthshot Innovation Challenge: Northeast US Edition celebrate innovative solutions to repair the planet based on 5 “Earthshots”. These Earthshots represent goals that, if achieved, will repair the planet before irreversible damage occurs. The Earthshots are Protect and Restore NatureClean our AirRevive our OceansBuild a Waste-Free World; and Fix our Climate. Read more about the Earthshots.

When will the finalists be announced?

Finalists for the award will be notified in summer 2024, and will be announced publicly in advance of the September 12, 2024 ceremony.

Can I attend the September 12th ceremony if I am not an honoree?

Yes, the ceremony will be open to the public and will also be live streamed and recorded. More information about the ceremony will be shared on the JFK Library website in August.

What kind of grant reporting will be required of winners of this award?

Funds will be distributed as grants and will require grant reporting. More information about the required grant reporting is forthcoming.
